The UDISE+ 2025-26 report by the Ministry of Education recorded a sharp decline in school dropout rates, with preparatory-level dropouts falling to 1.8% and secondary-level dropouts to 7%. Student retention improved at middle and secondary stages, while showing a marginal decline at foundational and preparatory levels.
